Two Cape Town league members, Kade Whyte and Dorje Gilfillan finished 1st and 4th respectively out of a field of seven in the junior division. Kade went on to take top honours in the VGC championship as well out of a field of five players.
In the senior division, three Cape Town league members made the top 4 with Kayur Ranchod taking the top honours and Uthmaan Emandien and Shakeel Sayed taking 2nd and 3rd place respectively out of 13 participants.
In the masters division, two Cape Town league members made the top 8 with Aaqil Sedien taking the top honours and Curtis Fourie placing 6th. Gershwin Scheepers, an independent player from Cape Town came 3rd out of 43 participants.
With a lot of promising Cape Town league members missing out on this year's final due to exam time tables and lack of funding one has to wonder what the results tables would have looked like if the tournament was held on home soil and if we will ever get a home Championship in the future.
Congratulations to our 2014 National Champions - you make us very proud.
Our thanks also to Tammy who chaperoned our team - you truly are our League Mother
